OMG I have managed to do a challenge - Dutchdare - Charms

I cannot believe it I have actually managed a challenge and apart from Henry teething we are all ok. I just hope that this was the end of the bugs for this year. Well this is the start of my thank you cards, I did not send many Christmas cards in the end and the thought of doing them now makes me feel bad. All the images and papers I plan to keep with my everyday stash and do one now and again so I don't have the dread of them all next year.
This cute image was sent to me by Racheal sorry I don't know what it is called. I have coloured it with my promarkers as I am finding them very quick to use, even though I cannot shade with them for the life of me so colour is blocked.
The papers are all basic grey from the LilyKate pad which I adore, will have to reorder this eventually (Paul has brought me 9 pads of basic grey as stocking fillers as they are half price on the glitterpot at the moment, so I think it will be a long way off unfortunately). I have cut the ovals with my friskars as I am still awaiting delievery of my Nesties my Nan brought me for Christmas and I am impatient and want to use them now!
The charm is stash from ages ago when ABC did C is for Charms and was from Hobbycraft the best I could find at the time and seen much nicer since but need to use these up. The beads are part of the blog candy package I received from Nessy.
The flower is one of the old making memories hydranger package. I have 2 packs of the new prima's and they are so lush, but have been confiscated for Christmas day or I would have used them.
I think the unusual layout works and will use this again, but will faux stitch the papers as they look abit plan to me. Hope you like it.

I have won an award

Wow I have won an award - thank you Allison.

The rules are -

to give it to five others, who shall give it to five others..

  • You shall link the one you got it from, and also the ones you give it to:) And let them know.

And there is more... You have to write down five things you are addicted to....

Well here goes here are my 5 addictions...

  1. Hazelnut coffee, but it has to be made with 2 sugars and coffeemate and if I have got it cinnemen sprinkles - and I wonder why I am plump!
  2. My papers and stamps I just adore them and will sit there looking at them.
  3. Glitterpot - eek, I will just go on there for hours just looking at what is available.
  4. Hugs and kisses off my boys and sitting there watching them sleep when they are all lovely and angelic.
  5. My chinese takeaway on a saturday night - I adore chilli salt chicken and always have it as a side dish - yummy!

Well who to pass this on to -

  1. Firstly it has to be Jane who has made me cry this morning with a wonderful gift that she has sent me and I feel so bad as I am still waiting for her present to be delievered so that I can send it on to her. So I have ordered her something else and I hope that she should have it soon, so look out for a parcel from Cuddly Buddly in the next few days Jane.
  2. Lynsey is another wonderful friend that I have made on here, I decided to give her the award and now spot that she has already received it, but I am going to still give it to her anyway. I received a beautiful card off her and her family for Christmas and will be sending out New Year Cards soon as I am so far behind, I have made New Year Cards instead.
  3. Has to be Nessy, who also sent me a fabulous card and is another wonderful blogging friend.
  4. Is one of the first blogging friends I made when I won her faboulous blog candy early in the year, Heidi. Her blog is so wonderful and I adore her cards, she always has something lovely to say about other people and is so kind and generous.
  5. Is the very first blogging friend I made on line Jacqui. I expect alot of people will have already given her the award, but her cards have gone from strength to strength this year and her blog is one of the most outstanding and inspirational on her. Her distressed ink creations are mindblowing and her attention to detail is superb.

I am just sorry that I cannot pass it on to all the other wonderful blogs I visit and the friends that I have made. I have managed to visit a few blogs and I have looked at cards even if I have not managed to be able to comment.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and good health for the New Year to come.

Love

Vicky and her boys xxx

This is so bad

.... I was not able to do the DT for my own challenge site. My husband and I have been so ill with this flu that my father had to come over and give us a hand with the boys. I have not done any crafting for over a week. Luckily I am now on the mend and can function on Lemsip max. I have the winners blogcandy ready to post which will go out friday when I can get to the post office. I am so sorry everyone, I have done nothing, visited no blogs at all, I feel so rotten about it.
I promise to catch up over Xmas when DH is at home.

Hugs to all

ABC T is for Threes

Sorry I am a bit late uploading this as I am suffering from flu, I seem to be picking up one illness after another at the moment. This is the card that I made for ABC T is for Threes. The idea is apart from the image, everything must be in threes.
I have used one of my new pink tilda's and coloured her in using three different techniques, promarkers, twinkling H20's and glitter glue. The three papers are basic grey Eva pack and the sentiment is 3 words cut out using a cuttlebug diecut. There are 6 small prima got flower deux's and 6 gems added. The whole card has been fauxed stitched in silver. I really like this layout and will be using it again soon.

Whiff of Joy Advent calender

OMG how wonderful is this the best sort of Candy, I cannot believe how generous Katharina is being. Please check out the advent calender draw on her site. She is opening a door aday and a visitor to her blog will receive a WOJ stamp. I cannot believe it. Fingers crossed I am lucky enough to get the helping guardian angel melinda otherwise I hope you are reading this Santa, I have been good honest x

Dutchdare - a hole in the card

Firstly a big thank you to those that have left me messages, the boys are alot better today, even though Edward fell of his bike at nursery and has scrapped the whole side of his face which "hurts Mummy" as he keeps telling me. My back is still painful but I think that will be a long haul as I trapped a nerve there in the spring and I think it is now hurting as it is so cold. Snow forcast tonight, so it is going to be cold. Thanks to Jamie for the Candy, I didn't even know I had won as I have hardly been on here of late.

Well onto my card. I decided to do this challenge as one of my best friends Cathy is on the DT. I have used one of my birthday stamps from Sugar Nellie and coloured her in using pro makers which I am still learning how to use - can't do shading at all with them though if anyone knows of a good tutorial please let me know the link. The papers are dovecraft winter blue and the white strip is basic card stack which has been run through my cuttlebug using the snowflake folder (I love this machine). The ribbon came of some chocolates I think and the charm is off a papermania topper which I didn't think was made particularily well so I dismantaled it! The swirls are cut using the cuttlebug too and I have used silver glitz it to hightlight. The hole was cut with my friskars. I hope you like it.

An Award

Gosh I have received this award from 3 different people, Ali, Michele and Paula. I am so late passing it on, that I fear most people have already received it so I would like to pass it on to all followers of my blog - hugs xxx

ABC S is for Snow

I am so sorry I have not been around lately, both boys have been ill, then Henry cut 4 teeth in a week and I have been floorwalking every night with him and not crafted in ages. I hope to get some cards done this week, fingers crossed but I can't promise. Sorry I have not visited anyones blogs I have not had chance at all.
This little image is one of the Sugar Nellie Elizabeth Bell's that my sister brought me for my birthday. He has been coloured in using promarkers (as they are quicker than watercolouring as I have very limited time) and details have been picked out using gloss marker and glitter glue. The snwflakes have been cut using my cuttlebug and the sequins have been added from Cartwrights. The backing papers are dovecraft and the white circle has been put from the cuttlebug using the snowflakes folder. I hope you like my poor attempt at a DT card this week.

ABC R is for Ribbon

I will be honest this is not one of my better cards but after nights of floor walking while Henry cut 4 top teeth have taken its toll. The image is a WOJ given to me by Ellie, and I have watercoloured her in as per usual. I have crossed two ribbons, a thick pink and a think white to create half a frame for the image. The papers are from the Basic Grey Eva pack which I had yesterday for my birthday. I have cut the circles using my friskars and have distressed all the papers used using my papermania earth tones pad.
I hope you like. Please bare with me on my blog hopping as I have very limited time at the moment to craft and I am unable to get round to all my followers and people who leave comments on a daily basis. I am hoping to be able to set a side a few hours this weekend and plan to do alot of back tracking, so look out for posts on old cards as i try and catch up.

Birthday thanks

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the following

Cathy - for a gorgeous card and a beautiful pressie
Lynsey - also for a fantastic card and pressies
Jane - for a wonderful card, images and stamp
Nessy - for a beautiful card

and everyone else who has left messages.

I had a lovely day at the German Xmas Market in Birmingham. I had lots of craft stuff off the boys and my wonderful husband. I have also got some twinkling H2O's to try out. My sister brought me a load of sugar nellie stamps and the boys some of the pink magnolias, just need to get them inked up tonight hopefully when the boys are asleep. Henry has cut 4 top front teeth so hopefully I will be able to craft again, apart from my ABC DT Card I have done nothing in over a week which is so unlike me.

hope everyone is well x

Friday Sketchers and Spoonful of sugar - card for a child.

I combined the two challenges as I had started this card last friday and had not had chance to finish it and when I saw that Spoonful of Sugar was for a child it was perfect. I have flipped the sketch because I cut the paper out the wrong way and now I have just realised that the balloons are upside down - will correct! (so please pretend you have not noticed).

Cute Card Thursday - Green and Red

This wonderful image was given to me by my friend Jayne. It is one of this years Penny Black Christmas stamps and I think he is lovely. He has been coloured in using watercolours and I have then distressed the edge using my new papermania earyt tone ink pad. I have also used this on all the papers too. The papers are from a new company called papercellar and I am very impressed with them. The snowflakes were cut using my clutterbug and the holly leaves and the sentiment are left overs from last years christmas stash - I hope you like.

ABC - Q is for Quick Card

The theme on ABC this week is Q is for Quick Card. Once you have coloured your image you have 20 minutes to mount up your card. This is my design team piece. It was done using Basic Grey papers, one used as a backing paper and with the other sheet I cut our 2 circles using my friskars and glued them to opposite corners and then cut of the overhang. The corner swirls werre done using my clutterbug and added to opposite corners. I then added 3 prima flowers and glued 3 gold beads to the centre. I hope you like my quick card.

ABC - P is for Pink

Wow I don't post all week and then put a lot up at once, this is because, yes you have guessed it the boys are teething. Both have been grumpy and niggly and so I have not been able to craft at all. This is my P is for Pink ABC Card. It was made for a friend for a wedding she was attending and the bride's colours was pink. The image was sent to me by either Marcea or Lynsey I am sorry I can't remember whom now. It has been watercoloured using pencils and a waterbrush. I hope that you like it.

Dutch Dare - black, purple and pink

This is my gothic halloween style Tilda. It is the first time that I have entered this challenge and as Cathy is now on the DT I thought that I may give it a go. The theme was black, purple and pink. I have coloured Tilda in pinks and mounted her on a black circle which was put through the clutterbug on the birds and swirls folder. The edges in black were also done on the machine. The papers are basic grey. I hope you like.

Spoonful of Sugar - Sketch

I am not sure that this card has really worked. This is why I am only showing a small version of it. Let me know what you think and I may enter it. I think that the image is too big for the sketch.

Friday Sketchers

I am so proud of this card. I spent all last night on it to get it perfect as the prize this week is lace and wonderful accessories which are absolutely gorgeous. The image is WOJ Melinda, which was a RAK of Jane (I really need to buy these the more I use them the more I adore them). I have watercoloured her invery slowly a layer of colour at a time to ensure the colours did not bleed. I have used glitter glue on her wings instead of colour to give an angel like effect to them. I have mounted her up using decoupage pads onto an oval I have cut out using my friskars. I have then put the oval through my clutterbug using the birds and swirls folder. I have then used lavender waterpaint to distress the outside of it to blend with the papers. The papers are Basic Grey, which have been fauxed stitched to blend them. The flowers are prima and match the papers perectly.

I am so chuffed with this card that I plan to keep it for myself rather than send it to anyone.

This is my Halloween ATC, the image is Dinky Dots AJ the Wizard. I have coloured him using promarkers and mounted him on holographic glitter paper. The black cats have been cut out of card stock with a hobbycraft punch and glued to the card. A quick and simple ATC, I hope you like it.

A new challenge blog

I found this on Donna's blog -

We have some exciting and sad news...The sad news is Tilda & Co / Sarah Kay Challenges are no more, unfortunately there has had to be some changes. I have needed to merge both the blogs together to free some time up for herself. The good news is we have a brand new challenge blog Magnolia Vs Stampavie. We hope you will join in the challenge each Sunday (as before) The blog is now partnered with Stampaive so you can use Magnolia Stamps, Sarah Kay Stamps and any other stamp made by Stampaive including the ever so lovely Rachelle Anne Miller Designs (these must be the ones made for Stampavie – check out the list on the challenge blog if you're not sure which stamps can be used). The blog live now with the first challenge on Sunday.

There is candy on 7 DT members blogs up for grabs - I have choosen Christa's blog to enter on as I don't think I have the stamp. I ccan't quite make it out but if it is a kiss for chloe please let me know so I can change my vote. thanks x

ABC O is for Oval

Wow I have made 2 cards for this challenge as I did not know which to choose I decided to put both up!

The first is a flower fairy decoupage that I have had for a while. I have mounted it up in a green oval cut card. I have added glitter glue to the wings to add a bit of sparkle.
The second is a wonderful Tilda image sent to me by Vanessa which is a dream to colour. I have watercoloured her and mounted her on an oval cut with my friskar. I have used the friskar to take half the card away on an angle so that the oval stands free. I think that it looks really well. I have then used a sheet of paper on the inside which has been decorated with gems. I hope you like them.

My Craft Corner

This is my craft corner. Yes this is all the space I have to craft. My husband and I used to have a wonderful wargames room, which now has my 13 month old son in it, he has a cupboard - nicknamed the warcabinet and has to clear the wooden thomas off the dining room table to paint and I have this corner. The filing cabinet holds my stamps in boxes according to make. The clear A4 holders have my embellishments, ribbon strips and scrap paper. The shoe boxes you can see have seperate brads, ribbon, lace and flowers. Some flowers are in tubes in the cabinet. My water pencils are in a sphere byt he keyboard and my cutting mat infront. My papers are in a box under the table as is my new beloved clutterbug. It's only saving grace is it is surounded by a child playpen stretched out as a room guard to stop my two boys Henry (13 months) and Edward (2 1/2 years) getting at it.

Basic Grey and Spoonful of Sugar - a double challenge

Wow I am finally getting back into the swing of challenges, now that the boys are on the mend. These challenges fit nicely with the few images I have managed to get coloured whilst watching hours of Postman Pat, Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine while the boys were tucked up on the sofa.
The image was a gift from one of my friends, I am sorry I cannot remember who, I need to write peoples names on the back of the images as they arrive. I have coloured him in in watercolours and have added glitter glue to the buttons and the highlighted strips, unfortunately I am not sure that it shows in this light. The bcaking paper is basic grey from the Lily-Kate pad which I adore at the moment and I think works quite well as a winter background. The circle has been cut out using my friskars and put through my new clutterbug (brought for me by my wonderful husband) with the snowflakes folder and thus has squares and triangles on it, so qualifies just for the basic grey challenge this week. I have then edged the circle in silver sequins to add the bling factor needed for the spoonful of sugar challenge.
I hope that you like it x

Hi I am still here

I have not dropped off the face of the earth! I have been busy doing lots of Christmas Cards after looking after the boys. A few examples of them are at the top of this post.

Cathy and her daughters nipped over to see me on friday and brought me a wonderful card and present for my birthday in a few weeks. I would love to show you the card but it is her ABC Card for this week.
The cards are a mixture of images both mine and from friends, over the coming weeks my cards will have images from Jane, Marcia, Cathy, Jacqui, Alison, Nessy, Jane, Jamie and Lynsey. I am so sorry I can't remember who gave me what so sorry if I don't say it was from you.
Hugs and hope everyone is ok x

Think Pink Candy Card

Well I cheated and did 2! One will be for my sister and the other is for a friend Pat to send to someone affected by this horrid illness too. Pat raised £45 for Cancer Research the other weekend and I am so proud of him and glad my sister introduced me to such a wonderful person who I can now call a friend too (he was one of my sisters best friends for years.)

Basic Grey - Stitching

This is one of the Christmas Cards I am working on at the moment. The base is a blue card stock I have made into a 13.5 x 13.5 card. I have then applied a sheet of Basic Grey Paper from the lily Kate pad, and then used DCWV Winterstack as my highlight papers. All have been fauxed stitched. The Tilda is a RAK of Jane (thanks yet again hun) which has been watercoloured and the blooms painted with glitter glue for extra sparkle.
I hope you like it x

ABC - N is for Nature

This is my N is for Nature card. I made this a while ago luckily with all the illnesses in the household at the moment. The image is a beautiful Tilda which was sent to me by Jane (thanks hun) which I have coloured in using watercoloured pencils. The papers are a mixture - the bottom one was a dare of Cathy ages ago that she said I would never use - I think it is from papermania's earth tones, as is the top one. The oval papers is dovecraft fairy I think. The image has been built up using sticky blocks and fauxed stitched. The gems are stash left over from an embellishment kit!
I hope you like the mismash that is this card.

Thank you all

Thank you for all the wonderful messages you have left me regarding the boys they are much better now, but they thought it would be nice to share all their horrid germs with Mummy, so I now have it :-(
Sitting here with hot lemon and no motivation. I have done cards for challenges and will try and get them loaded but I think I will probably miss the deadlines now.
I am sorry all ABC entrants that I have not commented on all your cards, I apologise, i will try and look at them all even if I do not post a comment.
Right back to bed, hope everyone else is ok and does not get this flu/cold.

New Stamps and a little update

Hi everyone sorry I have not posted much but with two ill boys not much chance! I am starting to craft again and have had an order for 15 Christmas Cards to go with the 10 already on order, gosh I will be busy.

My darling boys have just ordered me 3 of the new Tilda's for my birthday, Tilda with Rose, Ice Tilda and Tilda with stripped tights. Paul threw in the basket a packet of Basic Grey Eva papers which I love doff Cathy's blog and set 1256 of twinkling H2O's to try. He has also promised me the new Elizabeth Bell Sugar Nellies, of the girl and teddy and the christmas scene. I wonder if I can push my luck and get the WOJ Matilda washing up. I am hoping that I get enough money of my relatives to get a Clutterbug? Unfortunately the machine was out of stock at Glitter Pot otherwise it may have fallen in the basket too!

I am putting together my birthday Candy - lots of papers and ribbon so far and a few stamped images, not sure whatelse to add - any suggestions?

Right back to the boys, hope to blog more later. Hope everyone is ok x

Suzanne at Slumber Cards is giving away the most fantastic candy - here's what she has put on her blog -

I want to do something special for my blogoversary and 30,000 hits BLOG CANDYThe October "Think Pink" campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness is very close to my heart and I am sure it is the same for many of you too.So when the new "Tilda Think Pink" stamps were released on Saturday I was straight on the site to order 2 Tilda's and a couple of sentiments.I have decided as you girls have been so kind and supportive over the past year I am going give one of each... a BCA Tilda and sentiment along with lots of pink goodies to make your cards with.No picture at the moment but as soon as the stamps arrive I will post one. I am going to keep this open for the whole month of October and I will get my Mum to choose a winner on Friday 31st October at 20.00 hrs. Here is what I would like you to do.. if you have time can you make a pink card and send it to someone who could do with a little tender loving care.It would be lovely if it was someone who's life has been touched by this terrible disease but it can be anyone who could do with a kind word and a beautiful card to cheer them up.. I am sure we all know someone.Post a picture of your card on your blog and link it back to me here so I can come and have a look, if you don't have a blog you can still play just email me your entry. So come on girls get out your pink stash and MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY!

This is another card I will definately be doing so watch out little sister you will have a pink creation landing on your doorstep in the next week!

Tilda and Co - Sketch

Sorry I am a bit late posting this card and that it is not a great photo - the light this time of year is awful.
This gorgeous image was part of a RAK sent to me by Jane to cheer me up - isn't that lovely of her. I have also had a RAK from Jenny and Lynsey too - thank you so much ladies it is very appreciated.
This card is for one of Henry's friends whose 1st birthday party is tomorrow and it was commissioned by her parents to give to her! I really hope they like it as they did not an animal or babyish card.

Cute Card Thursday - Sparkle

I hope I am not too late for this challenge.

The theme is sparkle and most of this card is sparkle. It forms part of a RAK to be sent to a friend who is feeling a bit down - I hope she likes it.

There is sparkly jewels, glitter on the paper and I have added purple glitter glue to the flowers that Tilda is holding. The sketch is inspired by the one Katharina has done for the ABC Challenge this week. I hope you like it.
