Back for a night!

My wonderful husband has managed to get me hooked up to the internet for a night. It is still chaos here, dust and plaster everywhere and most of my stash is in boxes so these cards are very simple I am afraid. Jayne (Serendipidy) has been texting me the themes so I can work on the cards as and when I can, I have currently pinched the kitchen table.

So here are the cards sorry they are all on one post but it will be easier I think for you all! They also include my first attempts at distresses inks so feedback will be fantastic if you are able. I will visit all your blogs as soon as I am able, miss you all lots xxxx
****************************

Saturday Crafter - theme via Jane Carroll on facebook as shaped cards.
This is my first attempt at distressed inks, I used milled lavender. It is very simple card stock, prima flowers and lace and gems. The backing paper inside the card is a chinese papermania in lavender. The image is WOJ.
****************************
Whiff of Joy - Stars and Stripes - theme from Jayne via text.
This is my Oakley in distressed inks. The backing papers are basic grey archaic. The stars are blue brads and the stripes are in the papers. I have borrowed Janes nesties (labels 1 and 2) for a few weeks so they are hers that crop up in the cards.
*********************************
Cute Card Thursday - Mirror image - something shiny - via text from Jayne.
This does shine honest! Papers are basic card stock in pink and gold and the gorgeous sheet is from the once upon a time papers from DCWV. Prima hydranga's, brads and spacers and gems all shine as does the image coloured in twinkling H2O's.
*****************************
Spoonful of Sugar - Blue and Green - via text from Jayne.
I hope you like this. I have since added leaves to the flower - but the light is too dark to take a photo. That is the problem when all your stash is in boxes! The papers are basic grey - boxer I think, the ribbon and flower and spacer are stash and the image has been watercoloured with pencils.

ABC L is for

List. This week on ABC there is a shopping list of items we wish you to use on your card or project. It is nice and simply, 1 ribbon, 3 flowers, 6 brads. This is my take on this theme. I have kept it very simple in layout as I wanted to use quite large flowers. I hope that you like it.

Will be going AWOL for a bit

The builder has just been round and they satrt work on monday to rectify a lintle that has failed in the new extension and guess where the window is - that is right behind my craft desk. All my lovely stash is to be boxed up and put into storage tonight sob sob sob and also my computer will have to be moved too so I cannot even blog - OMG how will I cope?

To try and carm me down my wonderful husband has brought me 10 distressed ink pads to play with and Jane and Helen have sent me some images so I can keep these out to play with. I am out of stamping card so I can't even quickly stamp up any stamps I have before they go in the boxes and get hidden away - sob sob sob.

The builder has said a week to ten days but it could be longer you know what builders are like and then there is the dust to clean as the front of the extension is to be removed and propped and will need to be replastered etc with a new window.

I am going to ask someone to guest design on ABC to cover me while I am not around.

Please, please don't forget me...............................

Tilda and friends ATC Challenge

I have not entered this challenge for about 6 months, but as my crafting time is very short at the moment (lots of spots) an ATC appealled to me in the short time I had while one was at nursery and the other slept (after doing shopping, housework etc).
It is very simple but I hope that you like it.
recipe -
basic red cardstock
image - hanglar rak of Heidi
ribbon - stash
charm - stash
eyelets - stash
pearls - stash
medium - watercoloured

ABC K is for

Keep it simple. I choose to use this sugar nellie stamp as although I love her I find she is very big and will dominate a card - and I like to normally add flowers and multipapers. I have slightly distresses the edges with a gold ink pad and then just added 6 pearls in the corners to give it a bit of bling. Do check out the other design team memers take on this theme.

Henry has measles!

Sorry to everyone if I don't get chance to comment on your posts for a few days but my little boy Henry has got measles as a result of having his MMR injection 10 days ago. The Doctor says not contagious due to strain but he is covered in spots and not very well. Luckily Edward can go to nursery tomorrow due to the strain so I may get some crafting done but I cannot promise.

Sketch and Stash

I am actually managing to finish off cards I started earlier in the week before you die of shock at all my postings today. This card has been made using the following new stash -

  • K and Co Brianna Pad
  • Fiskars scallopped lace punch
  • green sticky gems
  • hot of the press silver dragonfly brad

I hope you like it.

  • flowers - prima
  • medium - watercoloured and ink doodles

WOJ Black and White

This card has been kept very simple as my friend sadly lost her mother yesterday and I wanted the card to not be fussy at all (I have not even glittered the wings as per normal). I have coloured the image in promarkers and have used my new scalloped lace border punch. The ribbon is from a box of chocolates we received at christmas that I immediately put into stash. The flash of colour allowed is on the flowers - I hope that grey is accepted as part of thecolour spectrum as the paper is black with white flecks. I hope you and she will like it.

The papers are a new K and Co, Basic Grey range and are lush and the writting circle is from an older K and Co pad. I have fauxed stitched the papers. I hope you like it.

ABC - J is for

Jagged! As this is a scheduled post I don't want the title to appear on a feed and give the game away!

I finally think my mojo maybe returning. After being ill over the bank holiday weekend - food poisoning - not fun at all, I managed to catch up with a few cards on monday. The weather was nice so after a lovely day out at RAF Cosford my husband took the boys to the park to wear them out!
This fab image is a rak of Heidi and was a delight to colour (I have been keeping it for a special card) and my blending and highlighting on the leaves has made me very happy at how well it has worked. I have distressed my jagged edges and worked in a bronze ink pad. I had the novel idea to add staples - well it seemed a good idea when I thought of it in the middle of the night and it kinda works, as does the eyelet through the centre of the flower instead of a brad (the flower has been distressed to!) I hope you like it!

I have managed to finish this card I have been working on and it fits two challenges - spoonful of sugar numbers and secret crafter stripes. An Apology

I am so so sorry I have visited no blogs since my last post. I have today got now all three of my boys ill in bed. For two days now the eldest Edward has either been in bed or curled up next to me or on me. Little Henry is coming down with it too and my husband has a horrendous temperature and is shaking and tucked up in bed watching the rugby league. I have tried to do a card but as I am being continually yelled or called away it doesn't look right and at this rate the challenge will have finished before it is done!
I will try and catch up as and when
