Sketch and Stash

A bit of a dark card even though the picture was taken in daylight. Well what is new on the card - the pearls are new, the image is new as I have brought her even though I have used RAK image sof her before. The eyelets are new too, as is my fern punch. A lovely sketch to work with as so flexable.

A card I am happy with - WOJ Sketch

The image unfortunately is a bit dark and I would have liked to have added leaves to the flower - but having used a green flower I did not have the same colour in my card stock and all other greens looked wrong iykwim. I got a crop a dile off the boys for mothers day and I love it - I know that eyelets are not very fashionable at the moment but I think that they have worked fantastically on this card. I hope you like it.

ABC - G is for Glitter

Well I went overboard with the glitter here girls. My Gorjuss is coloured in watercolours and twinkling H2O's. I have mounted her on DCVW Blossom and Butterfly papers which are all glittery. I then did a thick boarder and put the papers at an angle so that I could make a glittery border. I used the glitter glue to frame the papers also. Even the bead the centre of the flower is glittery.
Now I have a computer problem at the moment so I am not be able to visit people's blog for a few weeks - so sorry x

Blog Candy with a twist

On the 2nd April i will have blogged for a year. I have got together candy but instead of opening it out to all I will open it out to anyone whom is a regular commentator on this blog. I will be keeping a note from today of whom comments and they will all go into the hat and I will send a little gift to the person the boys choose.

WOJ - Green and Karen's Candy

I love green, had to hold myself adding pink with it as that is my favourite colour combination - but will do that for secret crafter if I have time later this week?

I am entering this card into Karen's blog candy too - please see side bar for the permiment link.

I have doubts over this card too - I am really struggling of late to produce anything that I am truely happy with and my favourite card which I did for mothers day for Sugar Bowl nobody seems to like so I am a little lost at the moment.
The card above is for a friends birthday and there are 7 crystal shimmer dots in the corner but they have not come out at all well on the photo. The papers have been faux stitched and layered. They are all basic grey. I have cut and oval out to mount the image on and embossed it. I hope you like it.

Lili of the Valley - Sketch

Ahh not sure on this card - it is a bit dark for me and the light has not helped - bad rain storms here today. I am also going through a massive doubt phrase with my cards as compared to everyone elses they are just not cutting it and I am not sure where I am going wrong.

Spoonful of sugar (gems) mets Dutch Dare - Sketch

Sorry for a double entry but my crafting time is shrinking at the moment due to nursery runs and change of routines. Normally I don't make mothers cards but as I have done one for my Mum (well in my head I know what I mean that I can't give it her doesn't seem to matter), I am happy to make for Grandma's so hence this one following the sketch on Dutch Dare and adding gems so that it qualifies for spoonful of sugar.

The Sugar Bowl - Mothers Day

This was the brief -

As Mothers Day here in the UK falls on March 22nd this year, please make a card (or other craft project) for a Mother. This does not have to be specifically a Mothers Day card, just something, you know, that a Mother would love!

Here is my Card - this is what my mother would have loved, as she sadly has been gone 4 years this coming May.

While making it I sung the following song -

Oh, the summertime is coming

And the trees are sweetly blooming

And the wild mountain thyme

Grows around the blooming heather

Will ye go lassie, go?

And we'll all go together

To pluck wild mountain thyme

All around the blooming heather

Will ye go lassie, go?

I will build my love a tower

Near yon pure crystal fountain

And on it I will build

All the flowers of the mountain

Will ye go lassie, go?

And we'll all go together

To pluck wild mountain thyme

All around the blooming heather

Will ye go lassie, go?

If my true love she were gone

I would surely find another

Where wild mountain thyme

Grows around the blooming heather

Will ye go lassie, go?

And we'll all go together

To pluck wild mountain thyme

All around the blooming heather

Will ye go lassie, go?

Oh, the summertime is coming

And the trees are sweetly blooming

And the wild mountain thyme

Grows around the blooming heather

Will ye go lassie, go?

Which was one of her favourite songs and the one she was cremated to.

I have coloured the image in green which was her favourite colour with my watercolours and have added just a detail of pink as I wanted a pink ribbon on her as she died of breast cancer. The image looks very like the photos we have of her in twenties which was why I choose it.

I do hope you like it, it has made me cry writting this post - and I will get a better picture of it in daylight tomorrow.

ABC - F is for Flowers

This card was made nearly 2 weeks ago and it was loaded onto the ABC Blog straight away. Since then others have used the same image with the same colour scheme but I assure you I have not copied. The image is of course WOJ a rak of Jane and I have watercoloured this and mounted her using nesties. The papers are a mixture of K and Co pads, Daisy and pasttimes. They have been faux stitched and then the leaves and flowers have been hand quilled and added. A piece of lace finishes the card. i hope you like her, I am proud of her.

My new is the paper - basic grey - granola. The image was a rak - sorry forgot whom it came from. The brad was also a rak of Nessy. I hope you like my simple take on the sketch.

Dutch Dare - sorry it's late

A very quick card from me this week. I found this poem on the internet and just had to use it - for anyone whom can't read my writting it says -
Ok, So this card is late
Landing on your mat
But the others were brought in a shop
How difficult is that?
This card took skill and talent
And dedication to create
And days of thought and craftmanship
It's no wonder that it's late
But seriously I'm sooooo sorry

Whiff of Joy 21 - Sketch

I made my own little white light box to see if that can help the picture quality and I think it has a little. Over on WOJ this week is a lovely sketch which I have rotated as my image was on the large size for the sketch and at the last minute I could not bear to chop her legs off! Due to this I have had to move the flowers to the other side and slightly further up the card - hope that this is ok and allowed. The sentiment is missing as I am not sure yet whom the card is for and I always add that part before sending, unless I know in advance.
I hope that you like it.

Spoonful of Sugar - Sketch

Yet again an awful photo of the card - by correcting the exposure due to the dark nights it seems to blur the image slightly and I don't know how to recrisp it. Well I am not sure about this, I am suffering from lack of inspiration and mojo I keep thinking my cards are not good enough.
I have taken inspiration from Kim and added swirls to the picture as the papers are so busy ribbons would not work. The papers added to the bas are all faux stitched in green and I have used a paper to mount the image instead of using plain card stock for a change. I hope you like it.

ABC E is for Easter

This is my design team card for ABC this week. The cute image was a rak of Cathy which I have watercoloured in. The papers are a mixture of DCWV Spring stack and the blue backing I cannot remember where i got it from as the paper was loose in my stash. I have doodled around the papers and the flowers are prima, with a gem centre. A simple card this week from me, but wait till you see the one for next weeks challenge!

He will be going afternoons so he will get the post before he leaves and I know it would mean alot to all of us. If you are able please leave a message on this post and email me here. thanks x

Friday Sketcher

Another on the darkside card. I will try and retake the picture in sunlight tomorrow but I had to put it up as I have done 3 cards tonight - am I on a roll or not? Just shows that my husband is watching the rugby league and instead of blog hopping I decided to do some cards for a change. Plus my two napped a bit earlier and I caught up on alot of my blogging then.
Well this card is for another of the boys friends a little girl whom will be 3 on Sunday and we are off to her party. The sentiment reads - Birthday Princess. The papers have been doodled and I have added an extra flower and a charm to the sketch. I am very pleased with it, I hope you like it too.

Penny Black Saturday

OMG the light quality on this is appauling. I am sorry I have to post it but if I don't I will miss the cut of time. A clean and simple card from me as the image is on the large size. It has been coloured in promarkers, kept unfussy as it is for one of Henry's little friends 2nd birthday.

Spoonful of Sugar - Torn

Well I am not sure on this at all. I could not bring myself to tear any new sheets of paper so I raided my off cut box and stuck them onto the background serendipidy style. I even ripped around the image and the background too. I coloured her in using promarkers and kept it simple as it is for one of the many thank you cards I need to send to Edward's friends' Mum's for his birthday presents. I hope you like it, any feedback would be appreciated, still trying to show highlights with promarkers in the hair and failing miserably.

ABC - D is for Distressing

Doh I should really have set this as a delayed post and just noticed I hadn't!!!! I was unable to load any photos due to blogger playing up on monday so Marcea kindly added mine to the ABC Challenge. Tuesday was Ed's birthday and I completely forgot - whoops.
The image is a rak of Cathy that I have had ages, but while she was up on Saturday I had a play with her distressed inks and this is the result. I am very happy with it. I think the grungy distressed look suits this card. I have used bright papers as well as Ed has alot of friends parties coming up - I think that we have one a week for the next 2 months eek so this would be lovely for a little girl. I borrowed Cathy's distressing tool and frayed the edge - had to do twice as I was too delicate at first and then i ripped it - eeek I was scared I would rip it in two! I hope you like the finished effect.

The Sugar Bowl - A Christmas Card

I decided to treat myself and this is what I brought - isn't she so beautiful? I decided to use her to make a contempory christmas card for the sugar bowl challenge, keeping it clean and simple at the sametime. I decided to paper pierce her as it is a technique I have not done for a while and this image looked brilliant to do it with and I was not proved wrong at all! I watercoloured her first and then added the silver highlights to the coat and then added the paper piercing. I finished the image off by adding glitz to the muff which was undercoloured in silver. The image and border (including the 2nd panel) were cut using my nesties. I then doodled a wavy border around all the papers in silver pen. I then added a ribbon from stash and 6 gems. I hope that you like it.

Lili of the Valley - Guest Designer Call Enrty Card

I apologise now for the picture quality, it is so dark here today. We have had to cancel going to the Zoo for Edward's 3rd Birthday as it is terrential rain.
Wow this is my first card using my gorguss stamps and I love them, they are so easy to colour. I am already saving for the next release. I have used papers from the basic grey two scoops pack and have doodled around the borders. Not too sure if the swirls work, I was trying to follow the pattern on the paper. I decided to use the plain papers to accent instead of the fancy for a change and i think it works really well. I hope you like it.

Cute Card Thursday - Magical Animals

I am praying this works as I have been trying to upload photos all day and Blogger wouldn't have it!
This cute dragon was brought specially to make my son's 3rd birthday card - hence the 3 star brads. It is my 3rd attempt after the ink ran on my beautiful first attempt that I did with Cathy's distressed inks (which she took home with her :-( ) The second attempt the paint ran again on the edge of the wings, so on the 3rd attempt i used my sakura pen for that part instead and voila. The main part of the dragon has been coloured with H2O's, and I have used 2 shades over laying on the tummy to give a greeny silver effect (sorry light poor her to show the shine). I have also decorated the inside of the card - not shown with the dinosaur papers from the same pack of basic grey. I hope you like x
