Card for Alison

I hope I am not too late, having a crazy week here, have missed so many challenges and deadlines, my reason my sister gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Thursday, but the poor thing wasn't well and was on high dose iv anti biotics so the whole family have been so worried and I have spent all the time by the phone and my brain too frazzelled and worried to craft.

Here is the card I have made for the WOJ Illustrator Allison using the passion for promarkers sketch (promarkers have been used), I hope she and you like it. Papers are basic grey wisteria.

Snowflake and Willow

Gosh it is so dark today isn't it. This was the best I could get with these cards and you can't see all the highlights in the hair, has anyone got any tips please on how to photograph in poor light?

This card is for 2 challenges, I have reused the fab sketch on WOJ to make a card for my sister whose first baby is due today! She doesn't know what she is having so I have used a yellow and green pallett and made it sparkly as she loves bling. I have added stickles to already glimmer misted roses for extra sparkle. The image I made to look like a cameo as our mother adored these to make the card extra special for her. I am just annoyed that the poor lighting cannot pick out my shading as I am so pleased with it.

challenges -
WOJ - sketch
Cute card Thursday - 1sts

eta - I can't even take another photo of it as my Dad took one look at it and has taken it home with him, right need to make George another one now!

Fantastic sketch on the sugar bowl this week, with the added theme of paper piercing, I must admit I have made a few cards like this as it is fab in different colour schemes. I coloured the flower with my copics as I didn't have the shade I wanted, think it looks ok.

challenge - sugar bowl.

ABC Design Team Card - B is for Buttons and WOJ Design Team Card Racheals Sketch

Hiya

Here are my design Team cards for this week.

On ABC the theme is Buttons, so I have used K and Co Buttons my life journey paper and added a button to the flower. The image is a gorgeous Sarah Kay coloured in distressed inks.

On WOJ there is a fantastic sketch by Racheal. I have decided to distress my papers and hand stitch it. The papers are My Minds Eye and K and Co. The image has been coloured with distressed inks and the roses have been glimmer mistes in cherry blossom. The sentiment is handwritten and says goodluck but it is hard to see in the photo.

I hope you like both cards.

First Design Team Card for Whiff of Joy Challenges

This week on WOJ Challenges they have a beautiful sketch by the very talented Jacqui.
This is my take on it and I have also decorated the inside. It has been coloured with distressed inks and twinkling H2O's. I have then added flowersoft to the bouquet and head dress. The papers are K and Co and are so delicate and pretty. I hope you like it and will join in this challenge.

Tulip Willow in blue

Gosh you can tell my husband is off this week I have managed to finish 3 cards - unheard of normally. We have just got back from a weekend camping with Cathy. The weather was mixed although we did not make the beach due to my wonderful husband not feeling well (I call it a hangover) and so I am making the most of him feeling guilty! I did for once dress up in 17th Century clothes as did the boys (Cathy bribed Ed with an ice-lolly) so we could go rounf Bodnant Gardens which are so beautiful. Unfortunately I had forgotten the camera so no pictures sorry.

Anyway my card! Willow from the spring kit has been coloured in distressed inks and then mounted using the sketch on Whiff of Joy this week which I have flipped and rotated as I wanted to use a long image. The papers are a new pad of K and Co Tim Coffrey Tulips which I used for the first time. The flowers are prima and have been glimmer misted which I think you can see on the photo as I have been able to shock take in the lovely sunlight outside! (Yes I have a load of washing on the line too as it has a lovely breeze too this afternoon). The ribbon and lace are stash. I do hope you like it x

WOJ Heathers Sketch

Here is my interpretation of Heathers sketch which I adored using over on WOJ Challenge blog this week. I have used my distressed inks to colour in this lovely image of Melinda blowing kisses which I received as a RAK. I am going to add flock to the wings (once the delievery turns up- but I wanted to show you the card). The papers are basic grey sultry. I am trying to use up papers at the moment as I have lots of packs with just a few sheets left in them - Am I the only one whom doesn't like every sheet in the packs? I always end up with odd patterns I am not sure what to do with! Anyway I hope you like the card.

WOJ Bev's sketch and Dutch Dare

Think this card is missing something and i am not sure what. If you have any ideas please let me know.
Still not 100% and not myself at all, really low at the moment so if I don't fet chance to visit you all please bear with me.

I adore this card and unfortunately the light does not do it justice. I have coloured it to show Willow sunning her face and so the light hits on the right and all the colour belnds away to the left. Whiff of Joy - Friendship

I will be so so glad when the building work has finished and all decorated so I can have my craft space back. Sorry for the poor quality of light on this - will try and get one in daylight tomorrow (sun allowing) as the light in my kitchen is an electric strip one which has yellowed the colours slightly.
The quote reads - 'Remember true friends are always together in spirt'. Now the first person whom can tell me where this qoute comes from I will send a bundle of images to.
I hope you like it x

Whiff of Joy - Katharina Sketch

A quick post here sorry as I really need to try and catch up on all your blogs while I have 5 minutes and a coffee to hand.
I found this pad of K and Co while routing for a yellow pad originally and changed my mind on my colour scheme. I think it has worked really well though. Note to self to try and choose a different pad of paper each time so that I rotate them and don't keep using the same pad, which is a bad habit of mine.

medium - distressed inks, sorry did not note them down.

Back for a night!

My wonderful husband has managed to get me hooked up to the internet for a night. It is still chaos here, dust and plaster everywhere and most of my stash is in boxes so these cards are very simple I am afraid. Jayne (Serendipidy) has been texting me the themes so I can work on the cards as and when I can, I have currently pinched the kitchen table.

So here are the cards sorry they are all on one post but it will be easier I think for you all! They also include my first attempts at distresses inks so feedback will be fantastic if you are able. I will visit all your blogs as soon as I am able, miss you all lots xxxx
****************************

Saturday Crafter - theme via Jane Carroll on facebook as shaped cards.
This is my first attempt at distressed inks, I used milled lavender. It is very simple card stock, prima flowers and lace and gems. The backing paper inside the card is a chinese papermania in lavender. The image is WOJ.
****************************
Whiff of Joy - Stars and Stripes - theme from Jayne via text.
This is my Oakley in distressed inks. The backing papers are basic grey archaic. The stars are blue brads and the stripes are in the papers. I have borrowed Janes nesties (labels 1 and 2) for a few weeks so they are hers that crop up in the cards.
*********************************
Cute Card Thursday - Mirror image - something shiny - via text from Jayne.
This does shine honest! Papers are basic card stock in pink and gold and the gorgeous sheet is from the once upon a time papers from DCWV. Prima hydranga's, brads and spacers and gems all shine as does the image coloured in twinkling H2O's.
*****************************
Spoonful of Sugar - Blue and Green - via text from Jayne.
I hope you like this. I have since added leaves to the flower - but the light is too dark to take a photo. That is the problem when all your stash is in boxes! The papers are basic grey - boxer I think, the ribbon and flower and spacer are stash and the image has been watercoloured with pencils.

A card I am happy with - WOJ Sketch

The image unfortunately is a bit dark and I would have liked to have added leaves to the flower - but having used a green flower I did not have the same colour in my card stock and all other greens looked wrong iykwim. I got a crop a dile off the boys for mothers day and I love it - I know that eyelets are not very fashionable at the moment but I think that they have worked fantastically on this card. I hope you like it.
