Stamp and Create Spotlight - Food week 2

This is my product spotlight for Stamp and Create.

I have used Lynette Collecting her vegetables by Sarah Kay to cover a dairy for 2011 for my Step Mum. She loves her gardening so this image seemed ideal for the front cover. I wanted to keep it flat as I will be covering it in clear plastic to keep it from wear and tear, but I knew it would not photograph easily if I added it now. The back is also decorated but I will show you that later in the week. The papers are the gorgeous Capella from Basic Grey. The flower is from Prima, and I have added a spacer and brad, the small brown brads are added to the top piece of the diary. I have used Cluny lace and brown grosgrain ribbon in the centre to give defination to the two papers. The image has been cut with nestibilities labels 8 and the circle sentiment with circles large and small. The image has been coloured in distressed inks.

challenges -

Basic Grey - 4 embellishments (flower, brad, spacer, counted ribbon and lace as one as it is types), 3 papers, 1 image and 1 sentiment.
Allsorts - monocrome.

So sorry I am late

I am so sorry if you have been looking for this all day it is my Wags and Whiskers DT card which should have been with Nikki and Lacey yesterday. Gosh I had a day yesterday. Firstly it was my birthday (will do a seperate post tomorrow showing you the fantastic home made cards I recieved) and on top of this Henry (3yrs) was very poorly and wheezing and crackling which his inhalours would not shift so had to do an emergency dash to the doctors to get his checked out. He is now on the mend thankfully but it meant that this card was left half finished and I had set the challenge. Thankfully Nikki and Lacey are the most wonderful stamp company owners to work for whom understand sometimes family things can get in the way of crafting and blogging.

My card anyway is made using Tiny Dancer, she is just so perfect for little girls cards. I have been asked to make some simple cards for little girls first birthdays, not too fussy and no roses as they can come attached from the cards too easily so I got out my brads and spacers for this card. The DP is Basic Grey Wisteria, I do hope you like and you accept my apologises for lateness x

Blue Christmas and WOYWW

This first card is the first time that I have coloured this image in in copics, and I think it is ok. The papers are dovecrafts from a few years ago which have been distressed in silver ink. The glitter has been added using glossy accents beheath which gives it a lovely raised effect. As there was so much glitter I resisted adding it to the flowers as I thought it maybe over kill. The image is of course Sarah Kay and the flowers are WOC. The embossed panel is using a snowflakes folder from cuttlebug.

challenges -
Allsorts - Sketch
ABC Xmas - Xmas with flowers
Oldie but a goodie - glitter
Simon Says - Sparkle
WOCC - Blue Xmas
Spoonful of sugar - distressing
This card is made using one of the new Lili Of the Valley Stamps I brought at the NEC. Coloured in copics and mounted onto a loose sheet of paper from my draw, sorry I cannot remember the name. I have kept the card quite simple as the paper is so pretty.

Challenge -
Sketch Saturday
(it also qualifies for some of the challenges that I am entering the other card in)
What is on your work desk wednesday, simply a mess! I am so busy I don't seem to get round to putting things away, I am trying to colour images in simular colours to use papers up and save me having to get different embellishments out so I can for example glimmer mist alot of roses together rather than a card at a time. This image is one I have had stamped for ages which I need to get finished as I am making a scrap album for my sister to add the photos to for my neices xmas present.

ABC Commenting

I have just added this to the ABC Challenge blog, I am hoping that if more people adopt it, it will help everyone on DT Teams everywhere and also allow more people time to blog. It is not intended to replace commenting all together but to try and give us more time to visit more blogs.

Hi to all our followers.

As Christmas draws close, we are all finding less time to blog and want to spend time with our families. Therefore we are asking if possible for you to do the following.

If you go into blog posts on your dashboard and choose configure blog posts, it gives you a reaction button. I have ammended mine to read

like, dislike and DT Visit.

This means we can just tick the box like you choose the like button on facebook and you know that we have visited you.

We do appreciate it if you could do this as it is taking the DT hours to visit everyone and we are not managing to visit all entries.

Thank you

Vicky x

Wags and Whiskers DT Challenge Card - Vellum or accetate or tissue

First of all big apologises, I thought this had posted yesterday but seems to have got lost in the ether, both boys were wheezing yesterday so I did not manage any blogging or card making at all. So sorry.
I love this stamp (Rosalie) from Wags and Whiskers and is rapidly becoming one of my favourites for little girls cards. I have paper pierced her as I thought the vellum would make lovely wings, although it does not stamp very well and this is mark 6. The paper is new from Basic Grey and called Marjolaine and it is so so lush. The flowers I have punched out of the papers to match the dress and flowers on the image. There is also a layer of vellum punched too. The image has then been highlighted in chalk. I do hope you like and will join us in the challenge.

NEC 6th November 2010

Well I went and hardly spent at all. This is all my purchases bar a patchwork bag kit which my sister is getting me for my birthday, and I plan to do a post bit by bit as I make it. There are 5 Lili of the Valley Stamps although the bottom right one is not stamping very well at all grrr.
ETA - Yay have emailed Lili of the Valley as per Jacqui's message and hopefully I will get a replacement x
I did get the house mouse I have wanted for ages though :)

I got the lunch place completely muddled and therefore waited 40 minutes for Jacqui and Bev in the wrong place, but I did catch a chat with Jacqui later on, next time I plan on giving them my mobile number and arranging the place and time before getting to the show, it was wonderful to see them though. Everyone else I managed to miss totally apart from Cathy whom I met on the train!
