Happy Birthday Jenny

This is the card I have made for Jenny's birthday tomorrow. It is based on a sketch from the Sarah Kay Challenge.
Tilda is coloured in in watercolours and is wearing pink. The backing paper is from my spring DCWV matstack, ribbon is papermania as are the brads. Flowers are prima. I hope you like x

Sarah Kay Challenge - 3 Designer Papers

This is my entry to the Sarah Kay Challenge this week. The 3 papers used are K and Co. There is a brown stained wood as a bottom sheet above the green backing paper, then a floral tapestry print and the emotion is cut out from another sheet in the same range. I have used a square formation of the elemnts and put the image slightly off centre to allow for the emotion paper. The lace is from my stash and the flowers are prima. I have added a drop of gold glitter glue in the centre of the flowers as I thought the brads for the centres would dominate as would beads my other prefered option. I hope you like, if the image is too dark let me know and I will try and get a better photo.

Penny Black Saturday - One for the girls, Cute Card Thursday - Cats and Dogs and Happy Birthday Steph

One card to cover all 3! Sounds like the one ring from Lord of the Rings! Penny Black image which I love called CatBath, there is one very simular with a rabbit which I am very tempted to get. The papers are basic grey, ribbon papermania, flowers are prima, and brads are papermania also. Backing card is from stash.

My Step-Uncle's Birthday

This is a fab image stamped for me by Cathy. I have used it for Tony's birthday (married my aunt earlier in the year). As the stamp is so large, I have simply mounted it on Laura Ashley paper which was a rak of Jane.

Spoonful of Sugar and My first Whiff of Joy card

This is my first inked up Whiff of Joy stamp and she is lush, she reminds me of my sister who always seems to be curled up with a cup of tea, hence the message sister at the bottom.

The papers are stash and Laura Ashley, ribbon is stash, flowers are prima and the beads are papermania. I hope you like x

Suzanne blog candy

Suzanne, a very talented lady, one of the brilliant design team on Whiff of Joy stamps is offering a gorgeous Candy including a Melinda stamp! She also has a poorly cat at the moment, which needs lots of get well vibes.

She wants to know what your favourite movie is. Now I have several that I love and watch lots, Notting Hill, Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz, Lion King....but....my all time favourite is a realitively unknown film from the 1970's called 'The Amazing Mr Blunden'.

I religiously must watch this on average once a month and I am word perfect on it. I first watched it as a child and it's magic has stayed with me since. It was also the first film I really showed to my two boys. I even paid a stupid amount from a book dealer for a copy of the book - 'The Ghosts' by Antonia Barber as I just had to have it. The story is about 2 children who following the death of their father (WW1)move with their mother and baby brother to a remote country house where she acts as Caretaker on the recommendation of an elegent elderly gentleman, and the encounters they have there. i don't want to say too much as it will spoil it for you. If anyone is interested in it, you can get a copy here for uk and here for usa.

ABC Design Team - H is for Holidays

I made this weeks ago and then there were lots of christmas and blue and white challenges and I was so desperate to enter it in those, but I had already promised it for the ABC Challenge. Tilda is pulling her sledge ready for christmas. I have cut her out using my friskars (which I am still getting used to and ruin more than are successful), and mounted onto silver card. I have drawn a arc from one corner of the card to the other, and cut it out and mounted a silent night (anitas) page on the inside of the card. I have added sequins and embellisments from last years stock and raised them with sticky pads.

Personal Challenge Number 5 and Katharina Sketch number 1

This is my interpretation of the sketch as I don't like putting emotions on cards. The image is an Elizabeth Bell Sugar Nellie, the lace is stash as are the flowers and gems.

Personal Challenge Number 4

This one of the first Tilda stamps I ever brought and now looking at it again I am not sure if I still like it. A very quick card here, Tilda watercoloured, mounted on lilac card and the papers are papermania. The flowers are prima and the brads making memories.

Nessy's blog candy

Can you believe it Nessy had a birthday on the sly and did not tell me! So hun there is a purple glittery card just a bit further down on my blog, that if you email me your address I can put it in the post to you!

Now not only is she the guest designer on ABC this week, she has fantastic candy to give away so I would nip over if I were you x

Shopping and colouring medium questions

Just abit of advice from people to where they shop, for what items. What is better value from one place etc etc just to give me an idea of where else there is out there in cyberspace selling craft stuff.

Shops I know about, and have brought from -

  • Glitterpot - stamps and paper
  • Sir Stampalot - stamps and paper
  • Cuddlybuddly - prima flowers
  • Craft at home - clutterbee bugs
  • Krafty Krafts - stamps and brads
  • Whiff of Joy - stamps
  • Funkykits - stamps.

I am also looking at trying another medium and not sure whether to go down the marker route or the ink route - I would really like to get a starter set (which won't break the bank) to begin with, any suggestions, or does anyone know of any tutorials out there - thanks x

Mad scheme idea number 2 - Who is up for it????

Ok this is really crazy now and I am wondering who is up for it! My daft idea is why don't we all raid our image boxes for those forgotten coloured ones, and then our scrap boxs for the paper and make cards following Katharina's sketches from 1 to present and then donate them to a charity of your choice for fundraising - what do you all think?

Personal Challenge number 3

Gosh I am on a roll tonight - Admittedly that the images were precoloured ready to mount, which has saved time. This card was started for Donna's bling it on on the SBS Challenge site, but due to my sons not being well, it never got finished till tonight. Recognise the paper, yep I am using up my scrapbox as well, aren't I being good. I have figured out the blurring problem it is the exposure correct on the computer, but as these are not for competition, I think that they look fine in the small state. Image is Elizabeth Bell's penpal. Hope you like x
ps inspiration for the ribbon off Cathy's blog from a sketch she found.

My personal challenge number 2

Bad lighting again I am afraid. I have used one of my favourite layouts again to show of Patchwork Tilda. Backing card is stock and the lilac paper is papermaina. Flower and motive are stash - hope you like x
